Lenovo Ideapad U110 review

Design

Ultraportables are, to employ a vastly overused cliche, “so hot right now”. Lenovo’s consumer answer to its stunning X300 is a decent attempt, but falls short in a few areas. It starts well with the exterior — a bright red lid with etched flowery designs, an underside with fancy air vents, and a hinge that means business. It’s light too, at only 1.09kg, and the only negative design point we can find is that there’s an air vent on the left-hand side rather than the rear, meaning left-handed external mouse users will get a wash of hot air hit them occasionally. Compaq Evo Laptop N410c reviews

A great little machine. Really compact and light without compromising on performance. Mine runs XP fine and is ideal as a second machine. I say this because if you are after real processing grunt it is important to note that this machine comes with a Pentium III processor with a speed of 1200, 1000, or 800mhz -depending on the model. It is fair to say that newer processors -and the ongoing sloppy application & O/S programming habits mean the machine takes a little bit of time to crunch through some demanding tasks. That said it is great for surfing the net, emailing, and general office applications. Read more

Since Apple made the great migration to Intel and the x86 architecture, much of the mystery around its product roadmap has disappeared. Unlike Apple, whose obsession with secrecy makes the Illuminati and Trilateral Commission look loose-lipped, Intel is quite open about its future plans. As a result, reading the tea leaves when it comes to Apple’s product updates is much easier… it becomes a matter of when, not what. Read more
