Travelers and businessmen usually need laptop with good performance and longer battery life. Sony VAIO VGN-SZ791N is the perfect combination of an ultraportable laptop with good performance, nice specification, and long battery life. With 4GB RAM memory, Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.5 GHz), and nVidia GeForce 8400M GS, Sony VAIO VGN-SZ791N is probably the first ultraportable laptop that can play almost all heavy PC games. Of course you need a better graphics card to play fantastic games such as Crysis but this is the best ultraportable laptop so far. Surprisingly, Sony VAIO VGN-SZ791N/X has better battery life than most VAIO laptops.

The 13.3″ XBRITE screen is driven at 1280×800 by a hybrid video system. There’s a GeForce 8400M GS GPU for when you need top performance, or for when you want to play a DX10 game or two. For everyday tasks there is an integrated Mobile Intel GMA X3100 that uses less power and extends battery life. Communicate virtually anywhere with the Intel Pro/Wireless 4965AGN network connection that supports 802.11a/b/g/n. An RJ-45 connection supports Gigabit Ethernet.

The Sony VAIO VGN-SZ791N/X has a svelte, appealing look. The carbon fiber lid is beautifully made: Look at it closely and you can make out the fiber strands and subtle sparkles embedded in the coffee-brown exterior. The 13-inch LED screen is amazingly thin—not to mention bright—but the way the lid flexes raises some concerns about possible damage to the LCD. By contrast, Apple has figured out how to limit the bending in its MacBook Air while maintaining its thinness.

The premium carbon-fiber casing of this VAIO SZ Notebook combines a brilliant array of innovative mobile design, right-now performance and contemporary style in an attractive and lightweight package. Featuring wireless WAN, 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, an ultra-sharp 13.3″ widescreen display, long battery life and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, you have the ability to stay productive and stay connected. Control efficiency and output with the innovative Hybrid Graphics System, while integrated security features keep your data secure. For your burning needs, an integrated DVD+R Double Layer/DVD±RW/-RAM drive is included to make data storage easy.

No one does elegant-chic notebooks quite like Sony, and the VAIO SZ Series is no exception. This sleek 13.3-inch platform starts at a reasonable $1,499, though our premium model, the Sony VAIO VGN-SZ791N/X, costs $1,000 more. For that you get better-than-average performance and a host of unique features, all wrapped in a lightweight carbon-fiber casing that looks as good as it protects.
